Wang Tong – Swedish-Chinese Artist

Wang Tong travels between the Nordic countries and China, dedicating himself to art education, cultural and artistic exchange, and creative practice. In 1985, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Lu-hsun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang and remained at the academy to teach in the Oil Painting Department. 1988, he immigrated to Sweden. Since 2003, he has served as a visiting professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, teaching drawing and Chinese painting. In 2010, he became the Chair of the Sweden-China Cultural Exchange Center in Skurup, Sweden. In 2012, he was appointed Director of the European Art Center at the School of Art, Xiamen University. In 2013, he was appointed Head of International Cultural Exchange at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 2015, he founded the Nordic International Visual Arts Studio. In 2017, he initiated the establishment of Nordic Contemporary Art Center(Xiamen).

Tong has served as a visiting professor at institutions such as the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, University of Kentucky (USA), Central Academy of Fine Arts (China), School of Art at Xiamen University, Inner Mongolia Arts University, and Huaqiao University.
