In Jens Bohr's paintings, close observation of nature is always intertwined with traces, symbols and experiences of human life. In the work "the harbour Xamen", the depiction of the riverside life around the modern city is extended by depicting the ships of the past and the more turbulent waves than today. Flying birds, old boats and billows are floating in the sky, as if coming from time and space. The birds are the objects that Jens Bohr repeatedly depicts. He has painted poultry and wild birds: hens, ducks, crows, cranes and many other kinds of birds have appeared in his works. No matter where he is, these birds can always be the source of his paintings. He painted bird species all over the world, regardless of national boundaries. They are always real and have great symbolic value.
